Miss Hyla Bibbit
Toy Line: Forest Families
Company: M.C.Toy
Country: US, UK, EU
Year Introduced: 1980s possibly early 90s
Family: Frogs
Version:
DE, Forest Families
Name:
Hyla Bibbit
Bio:
Hyla is a very shy little frog from Sycamore Springs. While she is often quiet and content to keep herself company weaving baskets by the pond, she will always help a friend or stranger in need. She tries to see the best in every situation and in everyone. Hyla hopes that by traveling the world, she might be able break away from her timid nature and find the friends she knows are out there!
How I Got Her:
I am forced to admit, there are two Miss Bibbits.
The original Miss Bibbit is a very old and very well loved, faded and worn figure acquired by trade with a collector in Sweden. She arrived in a purple dress and many battle scars, but something made me fall in love with her from the moment I saw her amongst the pile of things for trade. She looked like she had many adventures in her time. I wanted to tell some of these stories, but felt her appearance might detract from the telling.
A few months to a year later, a package surprised me on my doorstep. It had no sender's name, so it was a complete mystery. After some pleading on the message boards, I found out that it was sent by a friend in France. She had wanted to sent it anonymously, but I had wanted to thank whoever had sent it; because inside the package were two bright green Forest Family frogs - and one was near mint condition.
I now had the ability to tell Miss Bibbit's story. I swapped dresses and began to chronicle her adventures.
While I may only photograph one, there will always be two MIss Bibbits.
Thank you always Jim and Chani!
