- Grandma Primrose knows the weather. Her ears ring if it's sunny, and her toes ache if it rains. She's a regular weather woman!
- Grandpa "Boris" Ernest is always working on a new "invention." They don't always work though. Once he invented a fantastic machine. No one's ever figured out what it is.
- Mother Honeysuckle loves reading to her kids. Bedtime stories, mysteries, or poems. She's still reading long after everyone's asleep. In the 1988 Annual, it is stated that Honeysuckle teaches natural science.
- Dr. Forrest Evergreen is the nicest doctor ever. Whoever comes to see him gets a lemon drop. Kids like to come when they aren't even sick!
- Older Sister Summer loves school. She not only sees her friends there, but she gets to learn so many interesting things. Just like you and me.
- Older Brother Logan studies everything. Sometimes he even figures out the endings of Mama's mystery stories before she reads them.
- Little Sister Ashley's a quick child. She thinks quickly, and talks quickly, and moves quickly. Only a piece of honey cake can slow her down.
- Brother Preston is the class clown. He's always being funny. The teacher tries to stop him, but sometimes she can't help laughing, too.
- Baby Sister Poppy's a cuddly little bundle of fun. Her favorite games are peek-a-boo with sister Summer and horsey ride on daddy's knee.
- Baby Brother Dusty and his twin Poppy are opposites. When she wakes up, he gets sleepy and likes his mom to read "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."
