More Critters
This page is for figures in my collection that are neither Sylvanian Families or Forest Families. Some are legitimate toy lines, while others are "knock-offs".

Maple Town
Maple Town, known as Maple Town Stories in Japan is an anime series animated by Toei Animation, which aired from 1986 to 1987. It focuses on the adventures of Patty Rabbit, Bobby Bear, and their families, in a small city named Maple Town. The series gave way to a sequel, New Maple Town Stories: Palm Town Chapter, which made Patty Rabbit the only ongoing member from both series, although Maple Town's citizens made cameos from time to time. The program spawned collectible figurines with changeable clothing as well as houses, furniture, and vehicles.
Li'l Woodzeez
Li'l Woodzeez are a WalMart exclusive toy line and arrived in stores in Fall of 2010. They are Canadian made by the Battat Inc. Now they are carried by Target stores and feature different colors, new accessories and sets, and new two figure packs.
Teacup Families
Teacup Families was a toy line released in Fall of 2011 by the same makers as Teacup Pigs. Since they already had the facilities for making larger flocked figures (pigs), I suppose they tried to enter the "dollhouse" market dominated by Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters. Teacup Families are incredibly small and had the potential for becoming rather endearing. However, they were sued by Calico Critters for using the latter's houses in their commercials. The argument was that the two lines would be confused and it was false advertising. You can view the lawsuit here.
San Jin Toys
San Jin Toys is a company out of China that has made several "knock-offs", including houses and furniture. At least two of my families have this maker's mark on their box, but some other ones have been sold loose, without packaging. Based on the quality and similarities between these figures and my boxed ones, I have concluded that they are produced by the same company.
Germany
A surprising number of figures have come our of Germany over the years, the largest and most well known line is Bärenwald.
Bärenwald
In 1982 Fritz Sieber founded the Simba Toys company with his son Michael and five employees in Germany. Thanks to prudent company mergers, the SIMBA DICKIE GROUP now incorporates several successful, independent companies that cover all areas of the toy market. (Taken from Simba's website: SimbaToys.com.)
Simba's line of flocked, joined bears (and later other animals) is commonly overlooked and mixed in with Sylvanians. Later on, it appears Simba either bought or merged with M.C. Toys as some of their other animals are from the exact same mold as Forest Families. They are a bit larger, with their own distinctive features.

Assorted Figures
There are many figures in my collection that fall into a general "miscellaneous" category. Some are "fakies" or knock-offs while others are from one-off toy lines or toy lines that are very limited. Since I tend to get figures of interest and not necessarily the entire line, they fall into this category.
Unknown
These are all the figures and furniture of which I know nothing about. Most of these items I have received in lots from eBay. I would appreciate any help! You can e-mail me with any information (check out the Info page).
